Behind the Scenes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Join Tom "Dr. Colorado" Noel on Saturday, May 26th, 10am to 3pm for a behind the scenes tour of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Drive yourself or carpool to Colorado Springs where we will meet at the entrance to the Zoo. Explore the only U.S. mountain menagerie with the zoo keeper to see the largest giraffe in captivity, ride the 1932 World’s Fair Carousel & tour the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun. Optional cocktails afterwards on the Lake at the Broadmoor.

All Aboard! From Denver to Broomfield by Rail

Join Broomfield Depot Museum supporters for a slide talk on the days when you could zip from Denver to Broomfield by rail. Noted historian Tom "Dr. Colorado" Noel, professor of history at CU Denver and City and County of Broomfield Museum Administrator Jacqui Ainlay-Conley will take you for a ride on the electric railway that ran from Boulder to Denver via Broomfield as well as the streetcars that traversed Denver and connected the capital city with her neighbors.

Summer Solstice Light Rail & Bar Tour

Join Tom "Dr. Colorado" Noel on Wednesday, June 20, 5 to 9 p.m. for the Summer Solstice Light Rail & Bar Tour.

Dr. Colorado and RTD’s Ryan Mulligan lead this light rail tour from the Buckhorn to   Five Points to Littleton’s Main Street with Ryan's special presentation on RTD’s Fast Tracks build out. Registration covers the ride and drinks at the Buckhorn. Dinner is on your own at Jose’s Cantina, a Littleton culinary landmark.

Festivities will start and end at the Buckhorn Exchange Saloon, 1000 Osage St.

All Aboard the Durango & Silverton Railroad with Tom "Dr. Colorado" Noel

Board the bus at History Colorado, 1200 Broadway, 9 a.m. for a four day cruise. We will explore the silver mining town of Creede in its awesome chasm and spend the first night in Pagosa Springs with a soak in the curative hot springs. Then it’s on to Durango and a tour of the town with local history guru, Dr. Andy Gulliford.  After a night at the General Palmer, we'll ride the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton.

Crystal River Ranch, Aspen & Ashcroft

Be a special guest of Sue Anschutz-Rodger at her spectacular ranch. Tom "Dr. Colorado" Noel leads this motorcoach tour. We spend Friday night at Snowmass and tour the Snowmastadon Exhibit. Saturday we will explore Aspen and one of Colorado's most celebrated ghost towns, Ashcroft. 

Motorcoach departs from and returns to History Colorado Center, 1200 Braodway, Denver.

This event includes a tantalizing taste of opera at its best in the William Stables, and a 5 to 7 reception at MacFarlane House, 222 Eureka Street just west of the Opera House.

Board the bus at History Colorado, 1200 Broadway to tour breathtaking mountains, tunnels and canyons on Friday, September 7, 1 p.m., to Sunday, September 9, 7:30 p.m.

Two nights in downtown Grand Junction & walking tours with Zeb "Dr. Grand Junction" Miracle.  Limousine vineyard tour with free samples and the story of the Grand Valley plus a tour of Colorado National Monument. Return via Amtrak's spectacular route thru the Rockies.
